Jr. Leadership

Jr. Leadership is a program for high school juniors who wish to learn more about Jonesboro and how to become more involved in our city.  The competitive application process is conducted by area high school counselors and members of the Chamber's Workforce Development Committee.

Applications are thoroughly reviewed according to the following selection criteria:  commitment to personal growth, commitment and motivation to serve the community through volunteer work, commitment to favorably impacting the development and quality of the community, strength of recommendations, essay, GPA of at least 3.0, and attendance history in school.

Sessions begin in August each year with an overnight retreat at Crowley’s Ridge State Park.  Students participate in team building exercises and are led through their individual personality profiles by Jim Corter of Corter Consulting.  Session subjects include media, quality of life, city and county government, community service, economic development and local industry, healthcare and ASU.

For more information please contact Shelle Randall, Director of Workforce Development & Existing Industry at the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.
