Forbes: Southeast Region Dominates

Joel Kotkin's most recent article in Forbes describes America's growth in the next decade and the dominance of the Southeast region.  At the time of the Civil War the southeastern United States was both outpeopled and outmanufactured.  Today the Southeast is the largest region in terms of both population and establishing itself as the country’s second industrial hub (after the Great Lakes region).  Improving education and massive foreign investment mean this region is likely to keep rising in the decades ahead, according to the Forbes article.
