Best Manufacturing Purchased by Reliance Steel & Aluminum

Talk Business & Politics, April 5, 2016:  Jonesboro’s Best Manufacturing, a custom sheet metal fabricator of steel and aluminum products, has been acquired by Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. (NYSE: RS). The Los Angeles-based metals service center company purchased all of Best’s capital stock in an undisclosed transaction.

Hytrol & A-State Engineering Partnership

Tek Starz - Jonesboro's Summer Manufacturing Camp

The State of Arkansas today announced that TrinityRail Maintenance Services Inc., will establish a new operating facility in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to provide railcar maintenance and services. TrinityRail Maintenance Services Inc. is an operating unit of TrinityRail Group, LLC, and a subsidiary of Trinity Industries, Inc., (NYSE: TRN) headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Butterball: Great Performance Metrics!

Kudos to the Jonesboro Butterball facility for outstanding improvements made in the last 18 months!  The Jonesboro Butterball team reduced turnover by 52% and their total recordable incident rate by 70%.  According to Butterball’s Safety Manager, Tom Bean, these performance metrics were a result of a more engaged hourly workforce, a more cooperative and cohesive management team, and an overall culture of renewed pride.  Particularly impressive to note is that these improvements were made while adding 56 new hourly team members with a leadership team that was 62% brand new!  What a great way
