ASU SBTDC to host small business tax workshop

 


ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center to host small business sales tax workshop in Jonesboro Thursday, January 26th from 1-4 pm on ASU campus

JONESBORO, Ark (Jan 3rd) - The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center along with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Jonesboro Association will offer Arkansas Sales & Use Tax Seminar Thursday, January 26th from 1-4 pm at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development

Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center and Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc. are hosting a small business workshop, Thursday, January 26th from 1-4 pm room 110 ASU Delta Center for Economic Development building, 319 University Loop West on the ASU campus for area business owners on Arkansas Sales and Use Tax for Small Businesses. This 3 hour workshop is designed to inform business owners of current sales tax laws, help them prevent overpayment of sales tax, educate them about the increased risk of audits that they face due to increased compliance audits and show them how to protect themselves from failure to comply with new regulations. The seminar also covers state of Arkansas Incentives and Tax Credits that are available to many eligible businesses. The Instructors will be David Rickman, Jeff Simmons and Ted Walker of Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc.

“Arkansas Tax Associates, Inc. are long time partners with the ASU SBTDC,” said Herb Lawrence, ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center Director, “they provide a unique service, not provided by many accounting firms by helping small businesses understand Arkansas Sales and Use Tax requirements and making sure that they are in compliance. Arkansas Sales and Use Tax laws become more complicated every year and this seminar is designed to keep Craighead County businesses informed about changes, how to deal with audits, even find out if they have been overpaying.”
