The Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce announced hours of operation for the Winter Wonderland located in Downtown Jonesboro at 231 Main Street.  This year the Winter Wonderland will be open for extended hours to honor the memory of its co-founder and designer, Donna Chetister.

Our community is blessed with many leaders who give selflessly to make Jonesboro a better place to live, and Donna is one of those leaders.  Her dream to create a holiday spectacular that everyone, regardless of age or economic status, could enjoy came to life in 1995.  Along with Libby Donahue, she energetically poured her creative talent and humble spirit into the displays that make up Winter Wonderland.    

“Over thirty displays depicting holiday scenes delight children of all ages”, said Libby Donahue, co-founder.  “We want to honor Donna this year for her dedication to the wonderland and the incredible artistic talent that is evident in each scene.”

Winter Wonderland has become a highlight of the Christmas season in Northeast Arkansas.  Chetister, who designed and painted the scenes died this month as plans were being made for Winter Wonderland.

The Winter Wonderland is free of charge and will be open weekdays, December 1, 8, 13-15, and 20-22 from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, December 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Santa Clause will arrive each of these dates at 6:00 pm and remain until close.
